What could be the reasons for chaos on roads in India… bad roads, lack of lane discipline, sudden change of a two way road to one way, prolonged construction of fly overs etc etc…
There is one more reaon which could easily make our schedule go topsy turvy…ministers visiting our cities!!!… The signals will not function, we will have traffic police to regulate the traffic…and the traffic will not move for some hours at a snails pace or may be we will not even move an inch…I have had an experience of getting stuck for an hour at a junction for the same reason…
I believe if these ministers claim to understand the woes of the common man, even they should get stuck in the traffic and not get such special VIP treatment…if they have a schedule to keep up, so do we…In today’s world when technology has advanced to great levels, why can’t the ministers use the net meeting facility to conduct meetings (the one where people on both sides could view each other), or if they do want to move from one city to another use a helicopter and hop from one place to another…plus when they come to a city why dont they land at odd hours of the night and spare us the traffic chaos…
This reminds me of a comedy scene from a tamil movie called 12B, wherein actor Vivek will be stuck in a similar fashion for a long time and later he will come to know that the minister in question would be travelling by flight and the traffic police would have stopped the traffic on the road…This was shown to make fun of the whole regulation of traffic by the traffic police under such situations…the only thing that we can say is….
kab honge humare ye waiting ke dard door, kab mehsoos karenge yehi dard ye minister log;
ye kya gunah humara ke hum hain aam log, kya inka hain naseeb ke yen hain minister log!!!
I want the ministeries and the parliament to be set up in villages. At least then we can have some hope!
@srik: even in villages they will have AC tents and people helping them out.. imagine if they have a meeting with PM or some forien dignitory and they are delayed becos of some morcha or traffic jam…that will the “BREAKING NEWS” in the newspapers for some time
srik, when our dear VIPs’ visit villages, telephone lines spring up, water supply runs into each house, tar roads some up… after the VIP’s stay is over, everything returns back to normal. even the telephone wire is taken removed by the officials. i read somewhere that an old lady requested the officials to leave something back, and the former got a plastic bucket!
talking about traffic jams, i cannot move anywhere. the place where i reside is subjected to snarls arising due to any cause!! so it’s a better to spend some time at home lamenting that i’m bored than loafing around gandhi bazar! bah!
@mouna: so true…the way that roads are laid and all the amenities are made available to the village people and then the speed at which things are taken back from them… such fake attitude of solving villagers problems while staying with them….
God knows when these guys will learn anything at all!
@Mysorean: i dont think ministers will ever learn the woes of comman man…they are all just too busy in making money for their kids and their generations…
And one more person vents out her frustration!!! You think this will change?? If it had to, it would have long back..all of us can be assured that many more bloggers will continue to find this a sure post topic for many more years to come!!
yup..frustration….atleast we are able to vent it out..welcome to democracy!!! freedom to expression rules…
